I have been teaching clarinet, saxophone, piano and the theory of music within both Primary and Secondary schools for over 20 years. I have worked for the Derbyshire Music Partnership, The Music Education Service (Buckinghamshire) Independent schools and within several schools using the site as the venue and contracting directly with parents.
I am Enhanced DBS checked and I complete Safe Guarding training annually. I am also Dip. ABRSM qualified.
I prepare and enter pupils for ABRSM Grade exams where applicable and can provide piano accompaniment for clarinet and saxophone exams. Lessons are one to one for piano but can also be in pairs for clarinet and saxophone. If beginner pupils have a small stretch and aren’t quite ready for a full sized clarinet or saxophone, I have had experience teaching the clarineo and Jsax.
I provide termly and annual reports within schools, set termly targets for pupils and plan lessons weekly in accordance with this. Where appliable I also take part in parents’ evenings.
I have worked with schools to promote instrumental lessons through assemblies, open evenings, taster days and workshops.
I have organised concerts for pupils to play to both parents, peers and the paying public, raising money for the past for various charities and giving pupils the invaluable and rewarding experience of playing to an audience.
